The efficiency of cotinuous butter making plants largely depends on the correct performance of each individual operations. Trouble-free and uniform heating, cooling, ripening and conveying of the cream should therefore be ensured. Fluctuations in flow rate, temperature and RPM must be avoided in order to keep the moisture content of the butter constant.
Westfalia has pioneered in the production of continuous butter. Unique and revolutionary in design, the continuous "Buttermatic" can be used to continuously make butter from sweet or sour cream - changeover accomplished from one to the other without complicated adjustments. The butter produced is high score, fine textured and flavorful. The type BUC Westfalia "Buttermatic" is composed of two sections which may be installed in straight line or at right angles to fit any existing conditions and most efficiently utilise available space. This machine has been designed to fit the needs of the modern dairy. Purely functional and sanitary design gives easy access to all controls and simplifies both internal and external cleaning. Disassembly of the churning cylinders and the blending cylinder is simple, since these sections are dismountable from the drive elements by easy exterior manipulation. Smooth, comorless surfaces eliminate the bacteria nurturing areas.
Westfalia BUC 3000 continuous butter churn has a working capacity of 3,000 kgs per hour. This butter churn is capable of producing butter with a moisture content ranging between 15% to 18%. At an auger speed of 30 to 50 RM, the moisture content of the butterr, if properly churned,m will be about 15% without using the metering pump.
