This is a complete cheese slicing and packaging line consisting of the following. The cheese is initially cut into either a stack or shingle in the Dixie Union slicer and is then transferred to a Meister buffer machine. The Meister unit controls the speed of the line by releasing the cheese stacks/shingles at a rate of 45 portions per minute.
Each portion is then transferred to the Cryovac flow wrapper and tray applicator. Initially the inverted tray is placed on top of the cheese portion and then wrapped in plastic film. The tray is then rotated 180 degress so that it is the right way up. The tray then passes through a three stage Cryovac heat/shrink tunnel and then on to the three labelling machines. These apply the barcode, price and manufacturers name.
